Dr. Lorenzo Bartolommei graduated with highest honors in Dentistry (DDS) from the University of Perugia, Italy. Driven by a strong passion for orthodontics, he completed a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of L’Aquila and subsequently served as a Research Fellow at the University of Perugia for four years.

As a Specialist in Orthodontics, Dr. Bartolommei has focused his clinical practice on aligner therapy, adopting Invisalign as his primary treatment modality. To date, he has treated more than 2,500 patients with Invisalign aligners.

He prefers to use Invisalign aligners even in complex cases, where his advanced and comprehensive mastery of the Align Digital Platform allows him to maintain full control over digital treatment planning and manage clinical complexity with precision, delivering beautiful, healthy, and functional smiles with high predictability, clearly defined treatment timelines, and a reduced biological and mechanical burden of intervention. In the most challenging cases, the combined use of Invisalign aligners and temporary anchorage devices (TADs) has led him to develop refined, minimally invasive protocols for the management of severely impacted canines, offering a biologically respectful alternative to conventional analog techniques.

In 2016, he was appointed Director of the Orthodontic Division of one of the leading Italian dental organizations, where he oversees clinical protocols and mentors junior orthodontists.

In 2020, Dr. Bartolommei became an Official Invisalign Speaker. Since 2021, he has served as Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Postgraduate School of Orthodontics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and as lecturer in the II Level Master in Aligner Therapy at the same institution.

Dr. Bartolommei is an active speaker at national and international conferences and continuing education events. He is also the founder of DocAligner, an educational platform dedicated to aligner orthodontics, through which he has trained more than 300 colleagues with focused courses and structured peer to peer support in Invisalign treatment planning.

Outside clinical and academic life, Dr. Bartolommei enjoys exploring unconventional travel destinations and practices kayaking, snowboarding, and scuba diving.
